Federal Government Shutdown Delays Checkwrite by a Day

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has issued an alert to providers that this week’s checkwrite has been delayed one day due to availability of funds from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a result of the federal government shut down. (The dates for this week’s check write were already moved forward by one day due to the federal fiscal year end.)

The posting and availability of funds to provider bank accounts will depend on the provider’s financial institution. Wells Fargo customers should see their payments in their accounts on the day that the electronic funds transfer (EFT) is processed, which will be Friday (10/4/2013). Providers who bank at other financial institutions should see payments the business day following the date that the EFT is processed, which will be Monday (10/7/2013) afternoon.

NCTracks has no plans to close or cease operations due to the federal government shutdown. Fiscal Agent Operations for NC DHHS is open and will continue the normal operating schedule.
