Medical Board Releases Report on Collateral Consequences

The results of the “Collateral Consequences Roundtable” were recently published by the North Carolina Medical Board (NCMB). The purpose of the roundtable, convened last June, was to determine how other entities use medical board actions involving physicians  to take action in their own particular arenas. The full report is available here or on the medical board’s website.

The NCMB now is looking at how to implement the recommendations. Amy Whited, North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) Director of Health Policy, and Varsha Gadani, NCMS Assistant Counsel, represented the medical society at the roundtable discussions.
