NC Selects Thomson Reuters for Healthcare Reporting and Analytics

The NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has awarded Thomson Reuters a five-year contract to provide a health care reporting and analytics system. The New York-based company develops and provides information for businesses and professionals, employing 55,000 people in more than 100 countries.

The system will enable the State to better manage all of its health programs. This includes Medicaid, NC Health Choice, Community Care of North Carolina (CCNC), Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse and Public Health. The system will contain data on approximately 1.8 million beneficiaries.

Presently, Thomson Reuters supports more than 27 state Medicaid agencies and other government programs, including federal health care agencies. Included in the company’s customized data warehouse are business intelligence tools developed by Cary-based SAS.
