The North Carolina Medical Society’s (NCMS) Director of Practice Improvement, Terri Gonzalez, has been tapped by the North Carolina Health Information Exchange (NC HIE) to do their provider training webinars. NC HIE operates North Carolina’s statewide health information exchange, a secure, standardized electronic system in which providers can share important patient health information. NCMS has long supported the NC HIE concept.

These trainings are by invitation only and are for the Safety net providers and NC Program to Advance Technology for Health (PATH) participants. All other practices should go to the NC HIE website and ask to be connected to the NC HIE.

Please note: the NC Immunization Registry as well as the Cancer Registry will be housed at the NC HIE.  These applications will be necessary to meet Stage 2 Meaningful Use in 2014.
