North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) member Chris Teigland, MD, Carolinas Health System (CHS), Medical Director, Center for Advanced Practice and Chair, Department of Urology, was awarded 2013 North Carolina Advocate State Award for Excellence, from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  The award is given annually to an individual in each state who has made a significant contribution toward increasing awareness and acceptance of NPs. Dr. Teigland’s tireless energy, effort, influence and persuasion was instrumental in the establishment of the CHS Center for Advanced Practice. An NCMS member since 1988, Dr. Teigland was honored for developing and nurturing a model physician /ACP relationship and for his support of the ACP practice.
