NCMS Members to be Inducted into Raleigh Hall of Fame

Each year, the Raleigh Hall of Fame inducts individuals, along with non-profit organizations, who have demonstrated remarkable benevolence to the City of Raleigh. Two NCMS members, Robert H. Bilbro, MD, and Assad Meymandi, MD, PhD, will be inducted into the Raleigh Hall of Fame on October 1, 2012.

Dr. Bilbro is being acknowledged by the City of Raleigh for his involvement as a physician leader and volunteer with The Open Door Clinic, The Healing Place, and Allied Medical Ministries. He has been a member of the Society since 1972 and has participated in the NCMS Legislative Cabinet and the NCMS House of Delegates. Dr. Bilbro’s wife, Carol Williams Bilbro, will also be inducted in the hall of fame for her leadership roles with the Raleigh Fine Arts, Raleigh Arts Commission and the North Carolina Symphony.

Dr. Meymandi who is being recognized for his philanthropic and humanitarian efforts in developing the Meymandi Concert Hall for the North Carolina Symphony in honor of his mother, and developing the Meymandi Exhibition Gallery at the North Carolina Museum of Art in honor of his father. Now a Life Member of the Society, Dr. Meymandi joined the NCMS in 1967. He has served on the NCMS Foundation Board and Finance Committee.
