NCMS Moderates Triangle Healthcare Executives’ Leadership Summit

Franklin Walker, the North Carolina Medical Society’s (NCMS) Director of Programs and Practice Management, served as the moderator for the Triangle Healthcare Executives’ Forum Leadership Summit on May 23, 2013. The topic of the summit was “Accountability for the Care We Provide.” The panel included Stephen Nuckolls, CEO, Coastal Carolina Health Care, David K. Dafilou, Principal, Premier Performance Partners and Terri McInnes, MD, MPH, Chief Transformation Officer, Cornerstone Health Enablement Solutions.

The panel discussed the challenges, benefits and costs associated with the transition to an accountable care organization, as well as patient engagement issues, and integration with specialists and area hospitals or networks.

“This forum was a great opportunity to get key players in this emerging model of care in North Carolina together for an evening of meaningful and helpful discussion,” Walker said. “I think everyone went away with some new ideas and insights.”
