The NCMS is a signatory to a letter sent to David Blumenthal, MD, MPP, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.  The letter addresses the issue of “meaningful use” which will control the payment of incentives beginning in 2011 to those physicians who meaningfully use electronic health records (EHRs) and will control payment penalties beginning in 2015 for physicians who have demonstrated they are not meaningful users of EHRS.  Read the letter and recommendations at the following links:
