Elaine Ellis Stone has joined the NCMS as Director of Communication and Marketing. Elaine is a graduate of Carleton College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a graduate of Northwestern University with a Masters Degree in Journalism. Elaine’s career includes tenure as Staff Writer at the Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale and Gannett News Service in New York. She served as Communications Director at Aging Services of Minnesota and Communications Specialist at the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (NCRLA). Elaine is responsible for developing and implementing the NCMS external marketing plan, leading communications efforts and message development, managing media relations, and implementing other areas of the NCMS Strategic Plan addressing member and external communications.

Varsha Gadani, JD, has joined the NCMS as Assistant Counsel. Varsha received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health. She has worked as a health care consultant with experience in contract review, as well as payor and regulatory issues before attending law school. She has recently completed her law degree at the University of North Carolina School of Law. Varsha will work in the Government Affairs Department on a variety of policy issues.
