NCMS Welcomes New Employees

The North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) would like to welcome and introduce several new staff members.

Jennifer G_2 (2)Jennifer Gasperini is the most recent addition to the NCMS staff joining the Government Affairs team as Director of Health Policy. Before moving to Raleigh just a few weeks ago, Jennifer served as the Senior Government Affairs Representative for the Medical Group Managers Association in Washington, D.C. She focused on federal legislative and regulatory issues pertaining to physician payment and quality, which included the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), value-based payment and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). Prior to joining MGMA, Jennifer worked as a Senior Account Executive at Ketchum, a D.C. Public Relations firm where she worked with government clients such as the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University. She also holds a master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University.

tinaKristina “Tina” Natt och Dag, is the Director of the Kanof Institute for Physicians Leadership at the NCMS Foundation. Tina has a PhD in Workforce and Human Resource Education from North Carolina State University. Her specific areas of interest are authentic and ethical leadership as well as women and leadership. She has a master’s degree in Human Rights from Lund’s University in Lund, Sweden and has been working in the field of training and development in the corporate as well as the non-profit sector. She also served on the Committee for Women, Leadership and Human Rights, one of the streams for the 2013 ILA Global Women and Leadership Conference, which generated the Asilomar Declaration, a document building from the UN Women’s Conference in Beijing 1995. She is a scholar-practitioner member of the Academy of Human Resource Development and also provides consulting services to organizations in the United States as well as in Europe.  She currently is  working on a book chapter about the development of Authentic Leadership. She lives outside Raleigh with her husband Magnus and their two children, Alexander and Emma.

Denna_1Denna Suko, joins the NCMS as Deputy Director of Specialty Society, Meeting & Education Services.  In this role, Denna will support 10 state medical societies and one county medical society contracting with NCMS for management services.  She brings a wealth of knowledge related to membership development, fundraising and legislative affairs to the position.  A veteran association manager, Denna has more than 15 years of on-the-job experience, including positions with FirstPoint Management Resources, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Committee for an Effective Congress.  She holds a master’s degree in Political Science from American University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
