The NC Rural Center has announced that a second round of funding is available for the Rural Health Care Initiatives grants program. Grants are available to assist health care entities with renovation and/or construction projects in rural North Carolina. Up to $480,000 is available per project, with actual grant amounts determined by the number of new, full-time jobs that will be created as a result of the bricks and mortar improvements. The NC License to Give Trust Fund Commission seeks applications for Grants-in-Aid to non-profit entities to conduct education and awareness activities on organ and tissue donation and advance care planning. The purpose of education and awareness on advance planning is to encourage thoughtful end-of-life decisions including organ and tissue donation as an equal consideration in this process of advance care planning. GlaxoSmithKline in partnership with the Triangle Community Foundation announced November 5, 2009 the recipients of the GlaxoSmithKline 1st Annual IMPACT Awards for providing access to health care. Each North Carolina-based nonprofit serving the four-county region of Chatham, Durham, Orange and Wake received a $40,000 award. Grants were awarded to:
