Nominations Open for The REAL Awards

The REAL Awards is a first-of-its kind awards platform designed to develop greater respect for and appreciation of the life-saving care provided by health care workers around the world. The REAL Awards was created by Save the Children and the Frontline Health Workers Coalition, with the help of presenting sponsors the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Medtronic Foundation and The Merck Company Foundation, and many supporting partners and a number of national health care worker organizations including Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses (AWOHNN), American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and National Physician’s Alliance (NPA).

The objective is to demonstrate the universal and urgent need for more trained, helpful health care workers on the frontlines. By some estimates, the world is short more than 5 million health care workers including one million frontline health care workers. Existing health care workers are often overworked and under-appreciated. The awards seek to remind the public that people everywhere depend on health care workers every day.

Everyone has gone to a clinic, hospital or doctor’s office and had an amazing experience with a health care worker. If you know someone who has provided such an experience, consider nominating them for the recognition they deserve.
