Because the NC General Assembly is considering meaningful medical liability reform legislation, the medical profession is under attack. NCMS leaders are working around the clock to seek reforms that will make a difference for physicians and their patients (see House Committee Moves Ahead in Debate of Medical Liability). Plaintiff’s lawyers are angry that the NCMS and its supporters are advocating for liability reform in North Carolina. Opponents of the legislation are spending millions of dollars to stop reform in its tracks. We need your help. We have no intention of letting the plaintiff’s lawyers stop us. The NCMS has organized North Carolinians for Affordable Health Care (NCAHC) to execute a strategic media campaign to generate public support for medical liability reform in North Carolina. The resources directed to the NCAHC have been used to proactively push for reform and to respond swiftly to attempts to stop reform.
