Eligible physicians, other health care professionals and hospitals can now register to participate in the CMS Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs. North Carolina is among the first eleven states chosen by CMS to participate in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. CMS and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) began online registration on January 3, 2011.
