NCMS Deputy General Counsel Melanie Phelps participated in the Acute Care Services Workgroup  meeting on Wednesday, April 21, 2010.  The Workgroup is part of the Acute Care Services Committee of the State Health Coordinating Council (SHCC).  The primary purpose of the Workgroup is to evaluate the present bed methodology and make recommendations that will address the growth rate disparities across North Carolina. The workgroup is also charged with recommending a methodology to define multi-county service areas (for counties with no hospitals) for acute bed need and for operating rooms for the 2011 State Medical Facilities Plan.  Click here  for more information about the Workgroup.
