Earlier this week, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced that the North Carolina Medicaid Incentive Payment (NC-MIPS) Portal for Meaningful Use (MU) attestation now is available to health care professionals. Click here to access the portal. The NCMS previously reported the portal opening for Adopt, Implement and Upgrade (AIU) attestation, which took place in mid-July.

DHHS also announced that the EHR Special Bulletin has been modified. The “Section VI—Path to Payment” portion of the Bulletin has been changed to reflect the new CMS guidelines and schedule for attestation for dually-eligible hospitals. “Attachment E—Patient Volume Specs” also has been updated to include “group methodology” to allow for more flexibility in defining physician “groups.” A final version of this document will be distributed to physicians in early September.
