Did You Know…Payor Issues are a Priority for NCMS

Conor Brockett_2The NCMS began a “Did you Know?” campaign, starting with the distribution of postcards to members informing them about the many efforts of NCMS staff to make North Carolina a better place to practice medicine.

Conor Brockett, NCMS Associate General Counsel, assists members with any payor or regulatory issues that they may have. He is not afraid to take on the payor system, whether it is talking to Palmetto GBA about overpayment issues with Medicare or speaking to private payors, like Aetna or United Healthcare, about bundled payments. Conor has helped many medical practices in our state understand and correctly participate in the managed care system. Follow Conor on Twitter @conorbrockett for the latest payor news.

I would like NCMS to work toward a legislation mandating all Insurance companies to accept assignment of benefits and sending payments directly to MD/Providers, post their fee schedules online for employers/public and providers to view, follow (AMA/NCMS)fair contracting policy to ensure all providers are paid equally without discrimination, and set a minimum pay rate(set by insurance commissioner based on NC legislation) based on current market value and medicare RBRVS with automatic rate adjusments based on yearly inflation rate. This will help all MD/DO providers equally and give people a choice in their healthcare.
