They are going to “vote” on the “Rules” policy today? Kind of like how the Politburo used to “vote” in the USSR?

Dr. March: They did vote on the rules today. To summarize the changes from the original proposal, they set a threshold of $25,000, below which payments will not be profiled; they agreed not to post any payments that occurred prior to October 1, 2007 (which is the effective date of the rule); and they extended the time doctors have to report changes in profile information from 30 days to 60 days. The NCMS will be evaluating these changes to determine whether they adequately address the concerns doctors have raised. That discussion will occur this coming weekend.
