NCMS Hand Delivers Letters Urging a NO Vote on Senate Budget Proposal

North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) staff visited each North Carolina Senator’s office at the General Assembly on Friday, hand delivering a letter outlining our objections to the Senate budget proposal and urging each Senator to vote no on its adoption. The budget proposal was released Wednesday night and was being debated in the full Senate Chamber Friday, and most likely until a vote in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Among our objections is the proposed 5 percent rate cut to doctors, changing Medicaid eligibility for aged, disabled and blind citizens and disregarding the progress toward meaningful Medicaid reform that has been made over the last year.
